He has been stuck in a decrepit children's hospital in Riga for two years with no prospects of recovery. The boy's father can no longer bear to see his son suffer and flees with him the terrible conditions in his country. In the hope of a better future for Elvis he goes to wealthy Holland in search of the woman who was his pen friend in his youth.
